SCG Editor Names Top 5 MTG Writers

Ted Knutson, a former Wizards coverage reporter and the former editor for StarCityGames responsible for putting into place the current resurgence in writing on that site, has started his own Magic-related blog. His first piece? A commentary on the writers he feels make up the Top 5 in the Magic writing world today. The list includes some big names, like Mark Rosewater, but surprisingly contains names from competitor websites like ChannelFireball.com.

Knutson took over the reins as the editor at StarCityGames.com following William "Ferrett" Steinmetz's time in charge. He eventually left the company, only to return in recent months to herald in a new era of articles there after growing competition from sites like ChannelFireball.com. In addition to his time at StarCity, Knutson also served as an official Wizards of the Coast Pro Tour coverage reporter, and even worked for the company for a time.
