Sony Closes Tactics Studio

Sony Online Entertainment has announced it is closing a number of its games studios, including the Denver studio behind "Magic: The Gathering Tactics." The announcement came April 1st, but reports have indicated it's credible and not a first of the month prank. In addition to the Denver studio, Sony will be closing studios in Tucson, Arizona and Seattle, Washington.

Magic: The Gathering Tactics is an online turn-based strategy game set in the multiverse of Magic: The Gathering. It is free to begin playing, but unlocking new levels and content costs money.

So far there has been no word on what this development means for Tactics, though it's hard to believe Sony would allow the product to fail so soon after its release.
