SCG Stars Win in Atlanta

The StarCityGames.com Open in Atlanta has come and gone, and established StarCity Open names are CONTINUING to dominate. It was a slow weekend for Gerry Thompson and Alex Bertoncini, who are neck and neck for Player of the Year, but Edgar Flores put up ANOTHER Top 8, and finally managed to take down a title. He has burst onto the scene this year with back-to-back Top 8 performances and now his title. The narrative of the circuit CONTINUES to be that players are willing to travel to the events, and that they are being rewarded for doing so with finishes.

 

On the Legacy side of the event the Hatfield brothers BOTH made the Top 8, with Jesse Hatfield taking down the title. Those two are established StarCity Legacy players with multiple Top 8s between them, and they continue to innovate and perform well despite rarely playing non-Legacy formats.
