The Chicago Sun-Times media group has highlighted everyone's favorite card game in a recent article for the Courier News. The somewhat fluffy piece, written by Dave Gathman, is a relatively run-of-the-mill "about Magic" article for a major media publication. It highlights Magic in Elgin, Il home to two separate card stores despite being a relatively small town.

In addition to discussing the stores, their players, and how those players enjoy the game Gathman also interviews a few players who have seen more competitive action on the international stage. Jerret Rocha, a well-known player in the greater Chicago metro area, is interviewed for his experiences on the Pro Tour and Grand Prix circuits (the article incorrectly cites Grand Prix tournaments as awarding a top prize of $40,000; in reality, that purse is for winning a Pro Tour).
