ICv2 is reporting that Upper Deck will be hosting the Darkmoon Faire in Houston this weekend. This comes during a week in which it was widely reported they were losing the license for the World of Warcraft TCG to Blizzard Entertainment, who own the product.
The announcement is a rare positive for Upper Deck in a year when they have had malady after malady impact the company. First they settled a lawsuit with Konami over alleged counterfeiting of Yugioh cards by Upper Deck. Then they were sued by Major League Baseball for copyright infringement. That was capped last week by the announcement they were losing the WoW TCG license, the last gem of their entertainment brand. The situation has become so dire for the company, many have begun questioning whether the company will even survive the series of events.
