Wizards of the Coast has announced a new tournament circuit for Magic Online billed as "practice for Friday Night Magic." The event, called "Thursday Night Magic Online," allows players to compete in events on Thursday night on Magic Online as preparation for live Friday Night Magic events held at local stores. The events begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday (PDT) and feature formats including draft, sealed, and Standard. Payouts for doing well in each type of event range from 3 to 6 boosters.
In addition, the MTGO team is sweetening the pot by giving away free promo cards for playing. This month it's Krosan Grip, and if you accrue enough points from playing enough events in the day, you'll also earn foil copies of the card.
