Texas Gaming Championships to Pay $5k

Large independent cash tournament series are all the rage, and a new one has just been announced by Mad Wizard Games. The circuit, called "The Texas Gaming Championship" is centered in Texas and will feature a year long qualifier circuit that feeds into a main event paying out $5,000. Regional qualifiers feeding into the event will award $1,000 prizes.
In addition to Magic, the circuit will also feature Pokemon, Yugioh, the World of Warcraft TCG, and Dungeons & Dragons. Additional prizes include iPods, Nintendo game systems, gaming products and accessories, and even byes into the championship tournament.

The announcement follows on the heels of the recently announced TCGPlayer.com Championship Series and the wildly successful StarCityGames.com Open series which has run throughout 2010.
