Terry Soh on Magic

Terry Soh became a big name in Magic long before he won the Invitational in 2005. That victory, which was rewarded when Terry was immortalized as Rakdos Augermage, helped cement his status as one of the top players in the game. At the 2009 World Championships in Rome, he added to his tally with a Top 8. He's even written in the past about his experiences representing the nation of Malaysia on the Pro Tour. The tiny nation, which has also played temporary host to Pro Tour-Honolulu Top 8er Zac Hill, served as the testing ground where Terry cut his teeth on Magic Online in preparation for his career as a pro.

 

Now Terry has written about his life as a Magic player for the Rage blog. Here's one of his quotes from the article:

 

"I have traveled to numerous countries around the world to compete in world-class tournaments, taking home something like over US$60,000 of winnings (that’s about RM200,000 in today’s equivalent) and I even have my own card printed by the company when I was 18 years old. Many people have a misconception that gamers are geeky and boring, but with all the traveling experiences and winnings I have accumulated, I beg to differ."
