ORIGINAL: Is the Pro Tour set to return to Hawaii in 2011? Megan Holland, adopted mother of the Florida Magic scene that has been home to Pro Tour veterans Charlie Gindy and Ben Stark, posted a link Monday that indicates the event will return to the tropical paradise next season. The link is to a schedule of upcoming events at the Hawaii Convention Center located in Honolulu. It clearly lists Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour to run from February 24-February 27 in 2011. That's the same location as the event held there in 2009.
Here's a link to the Hawaii Convention Center schedule.
The Pro Tour has been held in Honolulu twice before, in 2006 and again in 2009. Each time it was met with rave reviews from players and spectators alike as the island's beautiful beaches and winter weather make an excellent backdrop for the festivities of the Pro Tour, though Wizards of the Coast has NOT confirmed Hawaii to be a destination on the 2011 Pro Tour (nor have they announced any of the 2011 Pro Tour stops).
The previous Pro Tours held in Hawaii have been won by Mark Herberholz in 2006 and by Kazuya "The Chief" Mitamura in 2009.
