A Midwest Masters Series event scheduled to be held this weekend in Pittsburgh is being postponed due to inclement weather. Here is the official press announcement:

"The Midwest Masters Series Open event in Pittsburgh is being postponed due to a major storm front coming through the area. www.Weather.com is predicting up to 2 feet of snow to drop in the area.

After considering the options we feel it would be unsafe to ask players and judges to try to drive to the event - therefore we are postponing the event until a future date. The Pittsburgh event is not being cancelled, it will occur at a later date. The re-scheduled date and location information will be posted within a week and you will be able to find that information at www.magicmasterseries.com and www.professional-events.com

Everyone's safety is our #1 concern and it is just not going to be safe out there.  We appreciate everyone's cooperation and help getting the word out about this..."

The series is a large cash tournament with a championship purse of thousands of dollars to be awarded at this year's Gen Con gaming convention in Indianapolis. Tournament organizers from Pastimes, Legion Events, and Professional Events Services put the series together, with qualifiers making players eligible to play at the championship and earning free admittance to Gen Con.
