Former StarCityGames.com columnist Zac "Chatter" Hill has now been published on The Huffington Post. Hill, who now works for Wizards of the Coast as a member of R&D, is a former Henry Luce scholar. During his time as an academic there he spent a year in Malaysia helping to monitor and spread free press. It is that experience that he writes of in his most recent article focusing on the recent passage of a bill there that would provide Malaysians with the right to assembly.
Hill's time as an academic activist of sorts was not without peril. As recently as this week, his own colleagues were detained during a peaceful demonstration by police invoking the Malaysian equivalent of the Patriot Act.
As a card player Zac was a top American pro, famous for testing and brewing with Richard Feldman. As a writer for StarCityGames.com he focused on building decks that many considered rogue or at least willing to use cards few others considered playable. His accolades include a Grand Prix Finals appearance playing Coldsnap Limited in St. Louis, and a Pro Tour Top 8 at the second Honolulu.
