UPDATE: Brian Kibler has since stepped down as a VIP on the Magic Cruise due to a "scheduling conflict."
Pro Tour champion Brian Kibler and TheStarkingtonPost.com's own editor-in-chief Bill Stark have been confirmed as VIPs for the upcoming Magic Cruise 3 hosted by Legion Events! The event, unique in its design, takes place in February and features a week long tropical cruise from California to Mexico. Hosted by Legion Events, it is the third time the event has taken place. Each year scores of Magic players, relatives, and friends set sail for a week of adventures that includes round-the-clock gaming available on the ship itself. Past events have included Pro Tour Qualifiers, Grand Prix Trials, cruise championships, and more. There is also a qualifier circuit held around the country that feeds the cruise, awarding a free slot on the ship for winners.
Kibler and Stark, who have been confirmed as VIP guests on the cruise, will host workshops and question and answer sessions with fans and cruise participants. There members of the cruise will have the chance to talk with them about what life on the Pro Tour is like, what working on the Magic game for Wizards is like, how to become a coverage reporter, how to write about the game, and much more.
The cruise sets sail February 6 and runs through February 13. Rates for a room onboard start as low as $499, and there is plenty of time to reserve a spot. The first deposit for the event is due September 1, with final payment due on November 9.
