Legendary Magic player and current Pro Tour Hall of Fame member Jon Finkel has cast his ballot for the 2010 Hall of Fame. Making the surprise announcement on ChannelFireball.com, Jon published his ballot publicly for the first time in recent memory. Jon's former teammates, Steve O'Mahoney-Schwartz and Chris Pikula, have both benefited from grassroots efforts to get their names included onto the ballot as their years of eligibility begin to wane. Explaining his decision to publish his thoughts now Jon said:

"I haven’t written much of anything over the years discussing my ballot, but I wanted to share my thoughts this year now that I’m older and possibly even wiser. I also wanted to provide a counterpoint to an increasingly emerging bias against the players from the early days of the game. This is not surprising, as the voting pool contains many current pro players who have close personal ties to only a subset of the nominees who are or were active on the Tour in recent years. The nominees who are the pioneers of the Pro Tour are finding it harder and harder to take their spot in the hall, as their achievements fade from the memories of the current pool of voters."

His full ballot, which does include both OMS and Pikula, can be read on ChannelFireball.com here.
