How MTG Artist Fred Fields Made It

TheStarkingtonPost.com has previously reported on the stories of Magic artists and how they made it in the industry (read Mark Zug's take here). Now Fred Fields shares his story on the blog ArtOrder.
The blog, run by Wizards of the Coast senior art director Jon Schindehette, focuses on artists from the fantasy art world. It's a useful tool for those looking to break into the art world, or who hope to freelance in any subject in general. There are even jobs posted, as in Fred's story where a listing for Privateer Press is included with his tale.
Fred has illustrated quite a few Magic cards (see a full listing here), but his most famous is perhaps Mutavault.
