Mike Flores is a man who knows how to solve formats. The list of his decks goes on and on and on, and he regularly makes the short list of top deck designers of all time (check out a recent interview with our own Bill Stark on DailyMTG.com where he did exactly that). "Deckade," his book on Magic and deck designing, can still be purchased from Top8Magic.com via this link. Most recently he managed to "win" the 2009 World Championships but putting the Naya Lightsaber deck in the hands of eventual champion Andre Coimbra, proving even as the years go on, Mike still has what it takes.

So with a new Extended season upon us, is it any surprise he's brewed up yet another wacky list with which he puts his full seal of approval on? Here's what went up on his blog, FiveWithFlores.com yesterday:

4 Relic of Progenitus

4 Cryptic Command
1 Echoing Truth
4 Remand
1 Repeal
2 Spell Snare
4 Think Twice

4 Kitchen Finks

2 Day of Judgment
4 Baneslayer Angel
4 Path to Exile
2 Wrath of God

4 Glacial Fortress
4 Hallowed Fountain
8 Island
4 Mystic Gate
4 Plains

A traditional UW control strategy is something we haven't seen in quite some time, but Mike thinks it's the thing for the new Extended format. Is he right? Check out his reasoning behind the deck, including his full sideboard, at the original article on FiveWithFlores.com.

For what it's worth, Flores claimed on Twitter that UW control is "The deck I'm PTQing with."
