Jon Loucks made the Top 8 of a PTQ in Vancouver (Burnaby) using an aggro landfall Zoo deck with a Scapeshift trump. While he eventually discovered he had been playing Vesuva incorrectly all weekend, the deck is a fascinatingly powerful take on the ZooShift concept. Check out Jon's article on the deck here.

UW Control is all the rage in Standard, but Evan Gedzelman deserves credit for making the final table in Mobile, Alabama with his take on the subject for Extended. Aven Mindcensor is a powerful card in the current Extended format, blanking fetch lands. A smattering of counterspells, removal, and of course Baneslayer Angel and you've got yourself a deck!
Aras Aziz
1st Place - Alabama - Mobile - 3/6
4 Dark Depths

Taking the top slot in Mobile was Aras Aziz with Black-Green Dark Depths. Eschewing the tried and true blue version, Aras paired green for Into the North, Tarmogoyf, and Maelstrom Pulse in the sideboard. The deck is apparently pretty good as Vincent Elliot also Top 8ed playing a virtually identical list.
Marshall Arthurs
1st Place - Pennsylvania - Pittsburgh - 3/6
3 Hallowed Fountain
8 Island
4 Mutavault
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Wanderwine Hub
4 Crypt Champion

4 Path to Exile
3 Umezawa's Jitte
Sideboard:
4 Ethersworn Canonist
1 Journey to Nowhere
4 Meddling Mage
4 Temporal Isolation
2 Threads of Disloyalty
No your eyes do not deceive you; this is Extended, not Legacy. Marshall Arthurs put together a title winning Merfolk list for the PTQ in Pittsburgh. This deck seems awesome, with Jitte, Path to Exile, and a smattering of control in the form of Mana Leak. That meant Marshall's creatures had to get him most of the way there. The list doesn't appear to be complete, however, missing four cards in the maindeck where the published list has 4 Crypt Champion (which Marshall couldn't cast and couldn't benefit from discarding).
