After three National Championships concluded last weekend (read about them here, here, and here) this weekend brings yet another major Magic playing nation crowning its champion. That nation? Italy.

The host of the 2009 World Championships, Italy can take credit for a number of famous players throughout the Pro Tour's history. Mario Pascoli was the last thing that stood between Jon Finkel and his Pro Tour-Kuala Lumpur championship. And when it comes to national championships, you can't get more prolific than Antonino de Rosa. The Italian/American player is one of a rare breed of players to have Top 8'ed at two different nation's national championships. On top of that, after playing as an American he Top 8'ed back-to-back-to-back championships in the U.S.!
