Todd Anderson is a lightning rod for controversy. His articles on StarCityGames.com have often been met with derision in the forums attached to them. At the World Championships he was a member of a "disgraced" American team dropped from the team competition after captain Charles Gindy was disqualified (a ruling that itself was met with incredulity and much consternation). Brad Nelson, a rising American star, was knocked out of his chance to play on that team by none other than Todd Anderson at the 2009 U.S. Nationals. In his most recent article for ChannelFireball.com, Brad opens up about the loss:
"I didn’t like Todd Anderson much after Nationals since I had never met him before and he beat me in the Top 4."
However his opinion today has changed.
"I got to know him [Todd] and his wife really well and really grew to like them. He is one of the nicest guys on (and off) the Tour and is there to have a good time and get better."
Brad's opinion may run contrary to some of Todd's more vocal critics, but a voice as loud as Nelson's speaking of Todd in a positive light speaks loudly about Anderson's character.

This is a StarkingtonPost.com interview with Anderson at Worlds this year, shortly after he discovered the American team had been banned from competition:
